For those have you that have been stuck in a cave where the only colored lenses available are those super expensive and hardly noticeable Fresh Look lenses from your optometrist *shudder*, circle lenses are colored lenses that can also enlarge your iris a considerable amount for the doe eye or dolly eye effect. ^__^ I'm a big fan, and so are many other people. Circle lenses are seen as an absolutely necessity for the ulzzang and gyaru styles, and even maybe cosplay and lolita if you want to have that extra oomph.
Circle lenses have gotten negative attention lately by places like ABC News as being dangerous. I believe as long as you order them from credible sources and take care of them the way you do regular contact lenses, you'll be fine. I also don't think that the KDFA is some crazy shack of crackpot scientists approving dangerous lenses. (We'd have a lot of blind girls in Japan and Korea if that were the case.) But what really ~grinds my gears~ is that all these news articles imply Lady Gaga started the trend with her Bad Romance video, when she's in the bathtub looking alien like.

I'm sorry, but any idiot can tell that it's clearly *just* CGI that's making her eyes look huge and unnatural. It's not her eyes themselves, if the whites of her eyes are stretched too.

Based on this unedited picture, it doesn't even seem like she's wearing circle lenses at all. I even think 14.0 mm lenses would be slightly bigger.
So yeah, annoying. Also because circle lenses have been around forever being worn in Korea and Japan, but are just a lot more affordable now.
I own regular prescription (clear) lenses, but they're very expensive and each pair only lasts 2 weeks while circle lenses last a whole year from being opened. When I got my first pair, I never looked back hahaha. They are so cute. The first pair I ordered was from Pinky Paradise, which I believe is the biggest and most popular place to buy them alone because of the huuuuge selection. The prices are decent, I think they're having a sale right now. They're Malaysia based, and it took a bit over 2 weeks (including processing time) for the lenses to get to me with Registered Mail. The tracking was great. I ordered G&G GBT Blue 14.0 diameter, and they were great and super vibrant but not enlarging.

Unfortunately, I ruined one of them unknowingly. One of the lenses accidentally stuck to the top of the (adorable free) contact case and dried out. I tried soaking it in solution overnight, but it was a goner and I threw them away. They were so comfortable and pretty. T__T
The second pair I ordered was from a now bahleeted site called Tokio Lenses, it was a U.S. based site in Davis, California that processed my order in like an hour and got the lenses to me in 2 days. I checked their site last summer and it was down with them saying that they were getting more lenses in and renovating the office, but THEY NEVER CAME BACK. I think the gubberment shut them down FML they were awesome!
Anyways, they sent me the lenses I ALWAYS wear (look at my latest lolita post), the Dizon Eye Green in 14.5 mm. The color was muted and natural, and there is a lot of enlargement. And they made me look teary eyed in a super cute way haha. But the color is unnoticeable from a distance. I'm about to throw them out since it's been almost a year.
Fast forward to present. I got a highly anticipated package of 5 pairs of circle lenses in the mail from seller Geo-Lens House on Facebook. I know what you're thinking...Facebook? But I watched a bunch of awesome reviews of them on YouTube and read reviews about pleasant transactions. Plus they have awesome prices!
What I was the most impressed about was the communication. I wonder if they use Facebook as their main "store" because of
I bought 5 pairs, 3 of them being for other people. i. Fairy Super Crystal Blue, i. Fairy Dolly+ Red, i. Fairy Kirei blue, i. Fairy Jewel Pink, and Geo Super Nudy grey. Including the price of Registered Shipping with a tracking number, it added up to $94.29. I think that's a pretty good deal!
USPS decided not to ever tell me where my package was, so up to this morning it was "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" -_______- but that's not Geo-Lens-House's fault, obviously. Now onto the goodies.
(I switch between shitty camera phone pics and actual decent ones a lot...be forewarned~!)

The white envelope was completely sealed inside tough oversized plastic wrapping. The envelope itself suffered some trauma while getting to me apparently by the rips...but only a few of the lens cases (I received 5) fell out into the plastic bag. Not a huge deal, but a littttle troubling.

Wrapped in layers of white foamy material.

Yay!
All the precautions were made, I would give the packaging 4/5.
Here are the two pairs I ordered, and my Dizon Eyes Green!

Super Crystal Blue
Dolly+ Red
Dizon Eyes Green

My sister's Geo Super Nudy Grey in their boring cases lol.
So yeah~ Geo-Lens House is 10 kinds of awesome, I recommend them for their service and great prices! 10/10! Their selection is mostly i. Fairy and Geo. I love i. Fairy because of the huge selection that all come in prescription. >__< I hate that Geo has such limited cute selection for blind people like me. They don't carry any vibrant colors in prescription.
NAO WIGS!
I ordered three wigs, two of them having two clip on ponytails each from Fantasy Sheep on Taobao. I'm too lazy to dig for the PayPal transaction right now, but I think altogether it was about 100$ with shipping? I think on their eBay their twintail wigs are up to 70$ each. I couldn't order from their eBay anyways since they were gone for Chinese New Year's and none of the wigs I wanted were on their eBay.
The wigs are great. They comb out beautifully, and they're silky smooth (but in a very synthetic way, if that makes sense!) Cyperous wigs are much more coarse but they look flawless. The fibers themselves aren't "mixed" like Cyperous wigs either; they're all one color, but they're still really really nice. The wigs look like they came directly from the pictures advertised, which is awesome. I hear there are communication problems a lot of time with the seller, so be prepared to order way in advance. @___@
My favorite wig I got from them is one of their lolita wigs. It's a short wig that has 2 wavy falls with alligator clips. It's very pretty, and the fibers are gorgeous in natural light. It doesn't take TOO kindly to flash compared to Cyperous wigs, but oh well~ I want to get it in pink.

Platinum blonde wig I bought for my other cosplay. I cut the bangs myself, they were chin length before. And there's two taintails I couldn't get in the pictures, they're beautiful but HEAVY. But this gives you an idea of the fibers.

Male! Stocking wig after I gave it a bunch of layers. It's far from done. The pink is hurting my eyes, it's pretty florescent haha.
I, of course, took the opportunity to camwhore (again) with the lolita wig I bought. I only used one of the curly clips for camwhoring since the clips are heeeavvyyyy. None of the pictures with the red lenses and blonde wig came out right so I'll try again another day. @__@

Did you notice that I'm wearing my new Super Crystal Blue lenses yet??!

Non shitty camera phone pics:

I look a lot older with dark lipstick, don't I?!?! This is how I'd look as a deranged soccer mom:

And for fun, closet cosplay Ritsu since the wig is THAT thick~:

TL;DR BUY FROM GEO-LENS HOUSE AND FANTASY SHEEP
WOW, seeing the Ritsu picture really, really amazed me, you can't even see the netting @_@
ReplyDeletebrb buying from Fantasy Sheep
Today's world is growing very rapidly. Everyone wants to look good.In this case cosplay outfit has a perfect balance between the lace and the open part. It gives you personal satisfaction. It has a wide variety of costumes. Cosplay Costume is one of top sellers this season.
ReplyDeleteLovely~!
ReplyDeleteI want to try out Super Crystal Blue, but is it vibrant? I want the blue to stand out without flash or sunlight.
@ クリス: The Super Crystal Blue is very vibrant for its color being a sea blue. The color itself isn't a "bright" color like sky blue, but I think it's still wonderful for vividness. I prefer the deeper color. I would rate the vibrant quality 8.5/10. And because of the large diameter, they're sure to pop out even without sunlight. The first two pictures are in bathroom lighting and I think the color is very bold.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I am taken aback by how thick that wig's hairline is! I had heard good things about Fantasy sheep, but that really seals the deal for me. Definitely will give both of these sellers a chance for my next wig and lens purchases.
ReplyDeleteThe contacts and wig look great on you!
Thanks for the review~
oooh you got the kirei blue! please please do a review on those, I have been eyeing them for months and months and can't find a review on them! I wanna see how vibrant they are, because stock photos are always super misleading haha
